In the US, consumer research and strategy consultancy Bastion Insights has appointed long-time Hall & Partners' exec Joanna Fanuele as Chief Executive Officer. She replaces outgoing CEO Chris Hubble, who founded the agency in 2009.
Owned by marcoms group Bastion Collective, and previously known as Bastion db5, Bastion Insights specializes in qual and quant research, brand strategy, innovation, and communications. Fanuele (pictured) joins after eight years at Hall & Partners, most recently as Managing Partner, East Coast & US Health, and previously as Managing Partner of the company's 'in-the-moment' customer experience division Tempo. Earlier, Fanuele worked client-side as an ad agency strategist and in insights at Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, and L'Oreal.
In her new position, she takes over from Hubble, who is now taking a career break after more than 30 years in the MR industry and almost fifteen years spent growing the db5/Bastion Insights business. Bastion USA CEO Dax Cornelius comments: 'We are incredibly happy to welcome Joanna to the Bastion family. With Joanna on board, Bastion USA is further poised to become the largest full-service independent on the West Coast, unencumbered by friction within the consultancy or an overreliance on third-party outsourcing, mark-ups and misalignment with what is best for the client'.
