The Kantar Group has recently agreed the acquisition of Oracle Market Research Holdings Ltd, one of Greater China's biggest independent MR suppliers, for an undisclosed sum. Oracle will join Kantar's Added Value group and be branded as Oracle Added Value.
Oracle includes two companies, Oracle Market Research Limited (Hong Kong) and Oracle Market Information & Software Services (Beijing) Company.
Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Hong Kong, with offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, the Oracle companies offer a full range of customized and a number of syndicated surveys including the annual China FinanceTrend$. It employs 130 people and had revenues of HK$65m (US$8.4m) for the year ended 31st December 2003. The acquisition was announced in late October.
