Ipsos Hires Tech and Ecommerce Leader for India

Ipsos India has appointed former Nielsen exec Unni Hariharan as Executive Director leading its Tech and Ecommerce business.

Unni Hariharan, from Ipsos press releaseThe firm says the move reflects transforming market dynamics in the country, increasing tech and digital focus, and the arrival of many new entrants in this space. Hariharan is charged with identifying and enhancing opportunities with leading players in the Tech and eCommerce sector across the country, and reports to Shalini Sinha, appointed in September as Country Service Line Leader for two verticals, Brand Health Tracking (BHT) & Creative Excellence (CRE).

Hariharan spent just over seven years at Nielsen as a Director and then Executive Director, in two spells separated by a two-year stint as a VP at Kadence ending in September 2017. Earlier he spent three years at TNS India. He was educated at the Goa Institute of Management.

Sinha says Hariharan brings domain expertise and' has worked extensively with clients in the technology, e-commerce and D2C space'. She adds: 'we foresee him growing our presence with the roster of clients in these areas and leveraging opportunities'. Amit Adarkar, CEO of Ipsos India, says that with due to Covid19 there has been 'a boom in e-commerce, D2C players and digital adoption for almost bingeing on everything - from shopping to social media browsing and surge in OTT subscriptions etc'. He adds: 'Ipsos India views this as a great opportunity area, and bringing in Hariharan will help us enhance our quality of work and our client delivery mechanism'.
