In Illinois, not-for-profit organization The Alliance for Audited Media has named Richard Murphy as its CEO, President and MD, commencing on 1st of September. He replaces Tom Drouillard who will remain as a senior advisor to the AAM board and staff.
The US organization, former nearly a dozen years ago after the merger of the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) and the Certified Audit of Circulations (CAC), provides impartial data for use by media buyers and sellers, working with the industry to establish and maintain independently verified standards.
Murphy (pictured) brings more than 30 years of experience in media and technology assurance, and has served as the AAM's President since March 2023 following the organisation's merger with BPA Worldwide. Prior to this he held roles at BPA including CEO and EVP of global operations, launching the Technology Assurance division. Since the merger, he has helped bring the organizations together to provide more value to clients and the industry through an expanded member base, aligned standards and new certification programs.
AAM Chairman Chris Black welcomes Murphy's 'sharp focus and solid background in client solutions, product development and industry collaboration', and adds: 'His vision will undoubtedly help the industry reach new heights of reliability and accuracy'. Drouillard, who became Chief Exec in 2014, comments: 'I've gotten to know Rich well over the years, and I'm consistently impressed with his innovative approach to solving assurance challenges. He will lead the organization well and excel at our mission of helping buyers buy and sellers sell'.
