In New York, former ARF EVP and Alva Chief Client Officer Jasper Snyder has launched MAPS Insights, a new firm offering data-driven guidance on how to engage with high-profile and fast-moving issues, for marketing and communications leaders.
MAPS will bring together analytics, secondary research and data science to advise clients on how to engage with issues such as LGBTQ+ rights, workplace flexibility, democracy and voting rights, racial equity, and the AI revolution.
Snyder brings more than twenty years' experience leading analytics functions in marketing and communications. He worked for Datamonitor in London for eight years, latterly as Head of Primary Research between 2005 and 2007, and spent four years at social media research and analytics platform Converseon. He joined the ARF in February 2014 and spent three years as its EVP, Research & Innovation: Cross-Platform and Media, leading the large-scale research initiative How Advertising Works, and running its cross-platform and media practice, driving growth for 400+ member companies, as well as managing the association's Knowledge Center and team of knowledge experts. More recently he worked at Foursquare, at media monitoring and reputation analytics provider Alva as Chief Client Officer, and then as SVP, Client Strategy & Operations at strategy consultancy Penta.
MAPS offers solutions to clients struggling with limited visibility into consumer perceptions of fast-moving issues; inadequate and single sector competitive analysis; misalignment between corporate, marketing, and communications strategy; and reputation scores which 'by definition - don't work with polarized issues'.
Says Snyder: 'Our mission at MAPS is to help communications and marketing professionals make data-driven decisions around whether and how to engage on today's fast-moving issues. We help them by establishing what their target audiences are thinking, identifying what their competitors are doing, highlighting how leading companies outside of their sector are approaching these issues, and ultimately by connecting corporate, marketing and communications strategy'.
