Adelaide, Australia-based omnichannel attention measurement company Amplified Intelligence has appointed media and advertising veteran Barry Cupples as Advisor to its Board and Enterprise Sales team.Founded in 2017 by author and behavioural scientist Dr Karen Nelson Field, the firm analyses online attention to help gauge the success of ads with the help of its own AI-powered technology and research expertise, and offers clients a media planning platform.
Cupples' more than thirty years of experience in the industry includes serving as CEO of OOH ad company Talon Outdoor, before which he spent 25 years in global executive roles at Omnicom Media Group, including CEO Asia-Pacific, CEO Eastern Europe and Global Investment CEO. During this time he helped to create some of the group's best-known brands including OMD, PHD, M2M and Hearts and Science.
In his new role he will work closely with Alex Khan, EVP of Global Partnerships, to guide the enterprise sales and partnerships team as the firm looks to scale up after a $6 million funding round earlier this year.
Cupples himself (pictured) comments: 'I am really excited to be joining Amplified Intelligence, supporting the team and especially Dr Karen-Nelson Field - who has proven herself to be a force to be reckoned with when it comes to defining the standards within a maturing attention industry... This metric is critical in being able to rewrite the value equation for broadcast, thanks to its rich and powerful data capability'.
According to Khan, Cupples' expertise in both traditional and digital media 'comes at the perfect time to give a boost to our sales team as we continue to scale and prove the value of attention as a definitive yardstick for media effectiveness across international markets'.
