In New York, technology publishing firm Ziff Davis has acquired Toolbox.com, a network of more than 3 million IT professionals who ask and answer thousands of IT-related questions each month. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1998 and based in Scottsdale, AZ, the Toolbox.com platform enables users to evaluate vendors, plan and manage projects, solve problems and stay up-to-date.
As part of the deal, Toolbox.com will become a unit of Ziff Davis B2B Focus, formed last August following the publisher's acquisition of online specialist Focus Research.
Ziff Davis CEO Vivek Shah comments: 'We've added a critical piece to our puzzle with the acquisition of Toolbox.com. The IT community relies on itself to make decisions and be informed. Owning the leading professional networking site is a significant strategic advantage for Ziff Davis.'
