Cara Longo, VP of Operations at MR outsourcing firm Ugam Research Solutions, has died at the age of 44 after a two-year battle with cancer. She died on Monday 6 February at her home in Fairport, NY, surrounded by members of her family.
Educated at San Diego State University in California, Cara obtained a BA in English Literature in 1989. She began her research career as a Project Manager at data collection specialist Quick Test, and then after seven years moved to WPP-owned brand consulting and market research firm Icon Brand Navigation to take up the position of Director of Global Field.
Cara joined Harris Interactive as Vice President of Operations in 2003, and five years later moved to Ugam with the same title, leading the firm's Rochester, NY-based Project Management and Operations team.
Ugam's CMO Madhav Mirani says Cara will be sorely missed by all her friends in the market research industry, adding: 'She was one of the most respected and valued members of our team and a source of inspiration to all whose lives she touched. She will be especially remembered for her sharp wit, invaluable knowledge and her willingness to share it with us all.'
She is survived by her parents, husband, three children and three brothers. In a statement, the family said: 'Cara leaves cherished memories to all those fortunate to have known her.'
