Columinate Names Pretorius as CEO

In South Africa, Johannesburg-based online research specialist Columinate has appointed co-founder Henk Pretorius as Chief Executive Officer, after reporting a 600% increase in turnover in the past two years.

Pretorius (pictured), who began his career at Ask Afrika, set up Columinate with Elna Smit in 2008, to offer online research through online panel surveys and market research online communities (MROCs). The firm also provides web site analytics, to determine the satisfaction of site visitors and how this impacts on brand perception.

The founders' decision to appoint a CEO was made following the significant increase in turnover and in number of employees.

Commenting on his new role, Pretorius said: 'Providing strategic direction during our current rapid growth while maintaining our boutique and agile service delivery will be my main focus. Another key objective is to retain our reputation for innovation. This remains paramount to the business to ensure we continuously meet our clients' needs in better, faster and more cost-effective ways.'
