D3 Systems, known for its research in some of the world's most dangerous environments, has added five execs to its team: Kerry Brown, Alicia Boyd, Jessica Beaird, Kyle Block and April Bethune.
Brown's fifteen plus years of research and project management experience has mostly focused on international development, with an emphasis on Global Health. Most recently, she worked for non-profit Pact, after spells at Gallup, USAID in Afghanistan and Pathfinder International in West and Sub-Saharan Africa. She holds an MPA from American University and MPH from Boston University.
Boyd brings ten years of experience managing and analysing research projects in conflict areas, including work in Iraq between 2006 and 2010 where she managed the implementation of hundreds of thousands of national and regional survey interviews and hundreds of qualitative projects. More recently she has overseen several multi-year research projects in Afghanistan. Boyd received an MA in International Affairs from the George Washington University and a BA from the College of William and Mary.
Block brings more than three years of applied research and development consulting experience in more than 25 countries, including unstable and challenging environments, and is already working on a variety of survey research projects in Afghanistan. Previous employers include consulting firm Social Impact, and the National Democratic Institute. The holder of a BA in International Relations from Claremont McKenna College, he will also provide technical support for the firm's growing portfolio of impact evaluations around the world.
Beaird has conducted international field studies in Bosnia and Chile, and graduated from the Monterey Institute of International Studies with a Masters in Public Administration.
Bethune brings more than seven years of government contract accounting experience and four years of commercial property management experience, and holds a BS from Virginia Tech.
