UK firm Product Perceptions has been acquired by one of its Directors, Yvonne Taylor. Founders Dominic Buck and Keith Greenhoff will retain a financial interest in the business following the buy-out, but have also set up a new firm called Sensometrica.
West Sussex-based Product Perceptions was established in 1995, after Buck had served as Head of Food Consumer Science at Unilever, and worked agency side at Research International, Mobile Sensory Testing Services (MSTS), TNS and AGB Research; and Greenhoff had worked at MSTS and served as Project Leader of Guinness's Flavour Department. The firm offers a range of techniques for concept testing, new product development, packaging/design pricing, and product testing across the drinks, FMCG, toiletries and beauty products categories.
Taylor, who is now Managing Director of Product Perceptions, joined the firm in 2007, after serving as Business Development Director at MSTS and Research Director at Abacus Research. She began her career at Nestle UK. Commenting on the MBO, she told DRNO: 'Dominic and Keith have built a highly successful business and I am extremely lucky that they have trusted me with its future ownership and management. Going forward, we have a highly experienced client management team who are focussed on delivering exceptional client service and profitable business growth. We aim to build on the Product Perceptions success story, continuing to develop a wider choice of products and services for our clients.'
Buck and Greenhoff will continue to work as consultants for the firm, while running their new company Sensometrica, which will provide additional and complementary sensometric support to FMCG clients.
