In London, data-driven performance marketing agency Merkle has promoted Michael Komasinski to the role of President of EMEA, tasked with driving the firm's growth strategy across the region. He replaces Tim Berry, who has returned to the US.
Merkle - now owned by Dentsu Aegis Network - made its first major European acquisition in 2015 and by the end of this year will have grown its EMEA unit to 1,300 employees, in twelve offices across five countries. Before his promotion, Komasinski (pictured) was the firm's COO, Agency Services, responsible for business performance, capability development and service delivery in US and EMEA. He began his career at management consultancy AT Kearney before joining Nielsen, where he worked for seven years, and latterly served as VP, Global Operations, building and servicing multi-country analytical platforms for large, multi-national clients. He was then President of branding specialist Schawk Retail Marketing, and COO of Publicis agency Razorfish.
In his new role, Komasinski is tasked with overseeing further acquisitions and new office launches, and building on Merkle's people-based marketing capabilities. Giulio Malegori, CEO, Dentsu Aegis EMEA, says of the promotion: 'Michael has played a critical role in Merkle's global expansion. He now brings that experience to EMEA, offering our clients Merkle's unique capabilities and helping them transform their brands in the digital economy'.
