In New York, Christian Ward has returned to Digital Knowledge Management specialist Yext in the role of Chief Data Officer, tasked with helping clients optimize their data in search-ready graphs.
Yext provides a tool to keep track of location-related information in multiple directories, delivering 'brand-verified' answers to customers' questions, wherever they are searching. Ward (pictured) most recently served as Chief Data Officer for SourceMedia, before which he spent five years at Yext, latterly as EVP of Data Partnerships. Earlier, he held the same title at Infogroup; was Global Head of Content Innovation at Thomson Reuters; and founded financial research specialist Jaywalk Incorporated and media analytics firm Ockham Research. In addition, he is the co-author of a book, Data Leverage: Unlocking the Surprising Growth Potential of Data Partnerships.
Commenting on the appointment, founder and CEO Howard Lerman said: 'Harnessing structured data to grow businesses is in Christian's DNA. At Yext, he forged some of our most critical data partnerships with the largest tech companies in the world. As we embark on a new phase in our mission to put perfect answers everywhere, we are excited for Christian to help our customers grow in his new role as Yext's Chief Data Officer'.
