UK-based big data video analytics firm Big Sofa Technologies has appointed former Kantar exec Sam Curtis as Head of Client Partnerships and Business Development.
Big Sofa, which was founded in 2009 (then known as The Insight Exchange Partnership) by former Research International CEO Simon Lidington and organisational psychology specialist Matt Lynch, offers a platform for users to upload, edit, analyse and share video and other digital content. The firm - in which Ipsos became an investor last year - also offers a solution called Video Observer, which uses automated technology to analyse in-home and in-store behaviour captured 'anywhere in the world, at scale and in near real time'.
Curtis (pictured) joins from tech-enabled customer insights platform Streetbees, where he served as Head of Client Strategy, prior to which, he was MD of Moment10, which collects insights at moments when it is relevant for consumers. Before this, he was Global Data Lead at Kantar, having previously spent nine years at TNS, where he latterly worked as Global Director, Retail & Shopper.
Commenting on the appointment, Big Sofa Technologies said in a statement: 'We feel very fortunate to have attracted such an industry talent.'
