In New York, the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) has hired Brad Berens for a newly created role, Editor-in-Chief and Senior Vice President, in charge of its research team and thought leadership activities.
Berens (pictured) was most recently Chief Strategy Officer at the USC Annenberg Center for the Digital Future, where he led both the Future of Transportation and the Future of Health projects. He also founded boutique advisory firm Digital Idea Consulting, was a Partner at invite-only professional network The Ascendant, and Chief Content Officer at exhibition and publishing company dmg.
In his new role, Berens will also oversee IAB's Centers of Excellence, programming for IAB Events, and the IAB's web site, mobile app, podcast, video and other content channels. He will also be involved in 'Project Rearc', a cross-industry initiative championed by IAB to address consumer demands for personalization and privacy through behavioral standards, codes of conduct, legal agreements and enabling technologies.
IAB CEO Randall Rothenberg comments: 'At IAB, Brad will help the digital marketing and media industry focus on the important matters, set their agendas, and learn what they need to know to grow. Adding Brad to the team in this critical role is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen our offerings across the board to ensure that IAB delivers the maximum value to every one of our members. Brad's unique experience and perspective makes him the ideal choice for this role'.
