Qual-led insight and strategy specialist BritainThinks has promoted one-time interns Raphael Malek and Lucy Morrell to the role of Research Director; while Teresa Kuhn and Phoebe Ward - who joined the company as interns last year - have been promoted to SRE.
Launched in 2010 by Opinion Leader co-founders Deborah Mattinson and Viki Cooke and their former colleague Ben Shimshon, London-based BritainThinks offers strategic advice for political, corporate and not-for-profit clients. Its WorldThinks international division has a specific focus on reputation research.
Malek, who joined via the internship programme in 2012, has experience conducting depth interviews with senior stakeholders, in-home ethnography, large-scale quant surveys and international online research communities for private, public and third sectors clients. Morrell joined as an intern in 2014, and has particular experience researching sensitive topics with audiences in vulnerable circumstances, leading on the firm's work for a number of third sector clients.
Mattinson comments: 'We are thrilled to recognise the significance of the contribution that Raph and Lucy have made to BritainThinks' outstanding and continued growth. We are immensely proud that their career development demonstrates both the long-term success of our internship programme, as well as our fantastic company culture, which builds and retains future leaders. It will be fantastic to see them step up in their new roles. Congratulations to them and to Phoebe and Teresa for their well-deserved promotions'.
