Opinium Hires Seven in London

London-based Opinium has hired former Hall & Partners exec Tom McEnery as Research Director, and made six further appointments.

Opinium, which was founded in 2007 and also has offices in New York, offers qual and quant research and consultancy across five practice areas - brand and communications, product and service development, stakeholder, market intelligence and thought leadership. In addition, the company owns and manages panels of UK consumers, IFAs and small businesses, and runs an omnibus which interviews 2000 UK adults in each wave. Around a third of the company is owned by its employees.

McEnery (pictured) joined in December after thirteen years at Hall & Partners, latterly as Research Director. Chris Curtis joins as Senior Research Manager after more than five years at YouGov, where he was most recently Research Manager; and Joanna Dorling re-joins the company as Qualitative Research Manager, after a brief stint in Sydney, Australia working for brand and business activation specialist The Zoo Republic. She worked previously for Opinium in London as Senior Qualitative Researcher.

Annabel Pope has been named Senior Research Executive, following four months at Yonder Consulting and more than two years at Populus, latterly as a Research Executive. Jude Ryan-Gray has joined as Junior Research Executive after an internship at insight-driven consultancy Quiller; Alex Pultney takes up the post of Research Executive, having previously been an RE at iProspect and Junior Behavioural Analyst at Canvs; and Beverly Harding has re-joined the firm as a Research Executive, after teaching English in Japan and having earlier worked for Opinium and Netfluential as an RE.

CEO James Endersby says that while the pandemic is far from over and the economy remains unpredictable, the firm has supported growth by bringing on board 'seven fantastic new colleagues'. He adds that the company is paying out a full bonus - 15% of profits - and increasing all salaries.
