In the US, consumer data giant IRI has appointed Google exec Kirk Perry as President and Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Andrew Appel, who will remain an advisor to the company and a member of its Board of Directors. Perry joins on May 17.
IRI offers access to its repository of purchase, media, social media, causal and loyalty data, integrated into an on-demand platform, to CPG, OTC healthcare organizations, retailers, financial services and media companies. Perry (pictured) will join from Google, where he has served as President of Global Client & Agency Solutions, responsible for driving the firm's global revenue with advertisers and advertising agencies. Prior to this, he spent more than two decades at Procter & Gamble (P&G) in leadership and marketing roles, including latterly as President of P&G Global Family Care. During his time with P&G, he also served as VP of P&G US Operations and North America Marketing. In addition, Perry holds seats on the Boards of The JM Smucker Company and e.l.f. Cosmetics.
In his new position, Perry takes over from Appel, who has held the role since 2012. Under Appel's watch, the company has more than doubled revenue, opened up its tech, automation and insights platform Liquid Data; expanded its repository of anonymised consumer data; created the IRI partner ecosystem; launched a media business; developed solutions that use AI and machine learning; and strengthened its diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.
Jeffrey Ansell, Chairman of IRI, comments: 'On behalf of the company and Board of Directors, I'd like to thank Andrew for his outstanding contributions and lasting impact. I'm delighted to welcome Kirk as IRI's next President and CEO. He's an impressive, well-respected leader whose background makes him uniquely suited to understand both the evolving needs of our clients and the power of harnessing data, insights and technology to enable better decision making and superior performance.'
