dunnhumby Adds Shop and Assortment Tools to Azure

January 27 2022

Tesco-owned customer data science specialist dunnhumby has announced that its flagship products dunnhumby Shop and dunnhumby Assortment are now available on Microsoft Azure.

Gianluca Carreradunnhumby analyses more than 395 million shopper baskets and nine billion data records every week, helping thousands of brands and suppliers in the grocery and drug sectors to understand how each of their individual products is performing with different types of shoppers. The Shop web-based business tool offers self-serve access to customer insights from nearly one billion shoppers across the globe; while Assortment uses the firm's customer data science to ensure retailer's product assortments meet the needs of their customers.

Last year, dunnhumby moved its customer insights products across to Microsoft's cloud platform Azure, in order to give more retailers and suppliers instant access to shopper and business insights; then it launched a web-based app called the Model Lab Azure, to enable data scientists to deliver customer insights faster. The latest move comes as the firm is announced as a launch partner for Microsoft Cloud for Retail, which brings together different data sources across the retail value chain, to help build deeper customer engagement across all channels and deliver more relevant personalised customer experiences.

Gianluca Carrera (pictured), Chief Solutions Officer, comments: 'dunnhumby Shop allows retailers and brands to make confident, data-led decisions, and dunnhumby Assortment helps them to efficiently optimise their assortment. With both now available on Microsoft Azure, retailers and brands can access this customer insight at speed'.
