British video-based insight company Vox Pops International has become employee-owned through an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).
The Ewell, Surrey-based company operates worldwide, providing camera operators, editors and producers who film and edit videos for qualitative research, communications, events and conferences, training and advertising. Services include carrying out video research via man-on-the-street interviews, in-depth interviews, diaries and flipboards. Its researchers then use this data to create visual stories via video, animations and motion graphics.
Diane Earnshaw, who founded the company in 1988 after working at Mintel, says the latest move both secures the long-term future of the company, and ensures the people who actually work in the business benefit. She adds: 'We are really excited about our move to becoming an employee-owned company. We have a fantastic team here and I'm so pleased that they will be able to share in the current and future success of the business'.
The company joins a handful of other UK research businesses which are employee-owned, including BritainThinks, The Nursery and DJS Research.
