In the US, customer experience management (CXM) company Merkle has named John Riccio President of Merkle Asia Pacific, replacing Zhengda 'Z' Shen who has announced his retirement effective July 1st.
Owned by Dentsu, Merkle uses data, technology, and analytics to understand consumer insights, designed to drive hyper-personalized marketing strategies. Riccio (pictured) joined in December as CEO in the ANZ region, having previously worked at EY, where he served as Partner, Asia Pacific, Digital. Prior to this, he spent more than a decade at PwC Australia, latterly as Partner, Global Design and Deploy - Experience Consulting; and he worked for IBM UK as Retail Industry Leader for the UK, Ireland, and South Africa; and spent more than ten years at PwC Consulting, latterly as Partner, Retail Systems prior to the firm's 2012 acquisition by IBM.
In his new position, Riccio will continue in his existing role, while replacing Shen, who is retiring after more than two decades on Merkle's exec leadership team. Michael Komasinski, Global CEO, said that Riccio's regional and global leadership experience will further enable and drive growth in the APAC region, adding: 'Over the years, Z has played an integral role in the development of Merkle's data and analytics capabilities, as well as our global operations. It has been a pleasure working with and learning from Z, and I want to personally thank him for his steadfast commitment to Merkle's success and wish him much happiness in his retirement.'
