Media and marketing intelligence provider UNICEPTA Group has acquired Berlin-based corporate data analyst Giance Technologies for an undisclosed sum.
Giance uses natural language understanding to extract information from more than 400 million data sources, and its machine learning approach can be used to identify information about products, companies, people, and locations contained within that data. The firm's solutions are used to track and understand competitors, suppliers, and customers, and to monitor leads.
As part of the UNICEPTA Group, Giance will form the technology center for research and development, together with UNICEPTA's AI-driven content intelligence and analytics platform, Ubermetrics Technologies. Following the takeover, Giance founder Professor Dr Hans Uszkoreit (pictured) will join the UNICEPTA Group Advisory Board.
Jochen Freese, CEO of UNICEPTA Group, comments: 'Freely accessible information in the media is a huge and strategically valuable treasure of data for companies. However, the ever-growing amount of data makes a systematic evaluation for actually relevant information almost impossible. With Giance's AI technology, we are creating an additional offering of an automated and highly precise solution.'
