London-based strategic insight agency Truth Consulting has launched an office in South Africa, where it has appointed former Kantar exec Lee Appleton as Director to drive the growth of the business.
Truth, which also has an office in Germany, focuses on brand, innovation, audience and business strategy, and is now the insight and research division of Instinctif Partners, an EMEA business communications consultancy. Appleton (pictured) joins in Johannesburg after around thirteen years at TNS, where he latterly served as Account Director, managing a team supporting a large African media broadcasting client. During his time with the firm, Appleton led the team on the MultiChoice account, working on strategic studies to drive business growth and inform pricing strategies. He began his career at BMRB in the UK, and then moved to TNS as an RE before relocating to South Africa. During his career, Appleton also spent a year at full-service market research agency KLA Africa as Senior Research Manager.
In his new role, Appleton will also work closely with Deanne Chatterton, who has overall responsibility for the development of Instinctif Partners' Africa business.
