London-based entertainment research and consulting firm Ampere Analysis has opened its first international office, in Culver City, Los Angeles; and appointed a team of four there, led by Executive Director Guy Bisson.
Founded in 2015 by four former employees of Screen Digest, the company specialises in games, sports, pay and multiscreen TV, and next-generation content distribution. A growing roster of broadcast and media clients includes major film studios, streaming players, telecoms and pay TV operators, TV channel groups and technology companies - making the California town an ideal new location, the firm says.
Bisson, who has more than 25 years' experience as an industry analyst and has a reputation for early spotting of trends and changes, is one of the company's founders, alongside Richard Broughton, Ben Colbeck and Dan Stevenson. Joining him in the new office are Analysts Ben French and Christen Tamisin, and Director of Business Development Jordan Lucoff.
French brings an MBA in entertainment, media and sports management from Pepperdine University, and a BA in Economics and Accounting from UC Santa Barbara; while Tamisin achieved Honours in B.S. Psychology and A.B. Philosophy at UC Davis, adding a professional certificate in Data Science at UCLA.
Lucoff brings more than fifteen years of experience in leading business development in North America and Canada, and previously led client growth for Maru, Kantar, WPP's JWT INSIDE, Interpublic's McCann Erickson and Dailey. She holds a BA in Film Studies from UCSB and a Master of Arts and C. Phil. from UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television.
Co-founder and MD Stevenson comments: 'We're incredibly proud to have opened our first international office just seven years after establishing the business. Ampere has a global client base with a significant number based in Los Angeles - our US clients will benefit from having a team close at hand to help with strategic and tactical challenges. I'm confident Ben, Christen, Jordan and Guy will provide data, insight, support and consultancy for our growing list of US-based clients. We plan to grow the LA team rapidly over the next 18 months'.
