In the US, Applied Marketing Science (AMS) has hired academic Dr Tao Sun as Testifying Survey Expert, tasked with providing survey evidence and expert testimony on matters related to trademark and 'trade dress' infringement, false and deceptive advertising, and class action litigation.
AMS has two distinct specialisms: 'Insights for Innovation' geared towards new product and service development; and Litigation Support for attorneys with consumer behavior and marketing issues, using surveys and other techniques. The company collaborates with a network of litigation survey research experts, who have expertise in areas such as consumer behavior, social psychology, advertising, branding, marketing strategy, economics, content analysis and other related areas.
Sun (pictured) joins with more than twenty years of teaching and research experience, which has involved designing and conducting surveys and experiments related to consumer behavior, advertising effectiveness, and mass media effects. During his career he has taught at the University of Vermont, where he was an Associate Professor of Communication; and at Emerson College; and his research findings have been published in outlets such as the Journal of Consumer Behavior, the Journal of Advertising Research, and Psychology & Marketing.
