In Australia, insight-driven marketing group Illuminera has sold its financial services (FS) behaviour profiles dataset DBM Atlas to FS sector insights specialist RFI Global, for an undisclosed sum. Following the sale, Illuminera is bringing together its DBM Social and 3arc divisions.
Founded in 1992 by Dhruba Gupta and headquartered in Melbourne, DBM previously worked with the FS market, through its FS customer datasets DBM Atlas and DBM Audiences. Through the deal, RFI Global's Australian capabilities will be combined with DBM's Atlas offer to provide enhanced services and solutions to both companies' client bases. This includes access to what RFI Global claims is the largest financial services data set of customer behaviour and attitudes in Australia.
Charles Green (pictured above), RFI Global's CEO and co-founder, describes the RFI and DBM Atlas product suites and client bases as 'very complimentary', while Chris Riquier (below), CEO International of Illuminera, says: 'The DBM Atlas team are truly excited to be joining RFI Global to write a new story in Australia. We look forward to continuing this journey together'.
Following the sale, the Illuminera Group has brought together its DBM Social and 3arc by DBM divisions, and renamed the former '3arc Social'. This division was set up in 2021 by Kerry Sproston to conduct research and evaluation in the public sector, and its services include problem gambling research, public health, and transport, in addition to program and communications evaluations. 3arc by DBM, now known just as '3arc', was established as a commercial research agency in 2022 by Matthew Bond and describes its business as bringing to life clients' narrative and storylines.
Riquier adds: 'It is a vision of our group to continually foster the growth of new boutiques worldwide, owned and led by the founders of these businesses. Kerry and Matt have exhibited the entrepreneurship and innovation required to carve out a unique capability in the Australian market and join our twelve existing boutiques and 200 consultants spanning insight, strategy and integrated end-to-end marketing solutions'.
