In the US, research platform provider Discuss has launched a generative AI-based solution called Genie, which uses OpenAI - the engine behind ChatGPT - to carry out qualitative MR admin tasks such as creating summary reports from hours of interviews, in just seconds.
Seattle-based Discuss offers clients a purpose-built video insights platform. Its new solution, Genie, has been developed as an 'expert assistant' that eliminates many of the more time-consuming tasks associated with qualitative research. The firm says that with anonymized data, AI can train models and help customers complete research projects, allowing them to focus on 'high-value activities' while AI carries out the more mundane, labor-intensive work.
Genie complements a People Experience Platform which already provides tools for research projects including auto-created screening questionnaires, video highlight reels and discussion guide suggestions. CEO Simon Glass (pictured), explains that Genie helps customers more quickly drive actionable business decisions from their target audience's in-depth feedback.
'Our goal has always been to help solve the big challenges to scaling qual research', says Glass, 'and this focused mindset is what is enabling us to understand the myriad of ways generative AI can be leveraged and to be executing faster than anyone in the market research space on this front'.
