In Manchester, UK, product intelligence platform Vypr has promoted its CFO Chris Williams to CEO. He replaces founder Ben Davies, who the firm says will maintain a key role in the leadership team as it looks to scale up.
Vypr's platform promises insight into 'what customers want to see on the shelves', testing everything from packaging, pricing and naming to product claims and ranging - the contribution of each to purchase intent is deduced from a UK-representative panel of '1000s of consumers' via smartphone, both online and in-store. The product is focused on low-consideration purchases such as FMCG, fast fashion and small consumer durables.
The company appointed former Cint exec Richard Thornton to its board two and a half years ago, and just under one year ago raised an additional £3.4m in funding, adding to £2.5m secured earlier. Next year Vypr says it will offer its customers access to consumers in up to 39 international markets.
Williams (pictured) has spent the last two years with the company, and earlier served as CFO at MoneyPlus Group, before joining Legal Marketing Services. Chairman Richard Law comments: 'Vypr is in a nascent market which is growing very quickly, driven by the superior outcomes when consumer insight is used in the product development process. Vypr, with its world class team and technology, is positioning itself to lead in this market and I'm delighted to announce Chris Williams' promotion to CEO at this important time for the business'. Williams himself adds: ''Our significant growth, superior retention rates and high scoring NPS results prove we have the right product in a rapidly growing market and I am truly excited by the opportunity to lead our sector'.
