Basis Research Group has launched a new team within its 'Ideas' division, based in Scottsdale, Arizona, focused on technical development and promising to deliver what it describes as 'the world's first Generative Business Intelligence solution'.
The new 'sub-team' is led by senior developer Trevor O'Hara-Oates, backed by three recent hires and will use Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) 'to open up powerful insights from a vast array of sources'. The approach wins over other AI solutions, according to the company, in that it is 'always-on' and uses up-to-the-minute intelligence rather than being trained on data which stops at a specific date; and in its easy handling of inputs across languages.
Basis says it wants to change the conversation around AI from fragmented 'tools' and AI-washing, to deriving genuine business intelligence. Users are promised the ability to quickly and easily navigate massive lakes of real-time client data including qual, quant and sales data, as well as wider data sources like social and search. Data can be interrogated via chat, exported in multiple formats to speed up reporting, and is backed by the group's consulting expertise.
O'Hara-Oates comments: 'We break free from traditional AI confines. Fuelled by Basis' rich intelligence, [Ideas founder] David Griffiths' radical approach, and the raw power of RAG, we hardwire versatility, thoroughness, and user interactivity into our Generative Business Intelligence solution'.
