NYC-based ecommerce web site analytics tool Heatmap has raised $4m in Seed funding, for use in growing its marketing and engineering teams, and to further develop its machine learning. The firm also says it is releasing eleven new features to help users make money from their web sites.
Founder and CEO Dylan Ander (pictured) began building the software for Heatmap while running a previous venture, SplitTesting.com, and put in $1.2m of his own money: the company now employs around 50 people.
Heatmap says it taps 8 trillion data points to make recommendations customised to each web site. The round was led by Vine Ventures, and joined by others including Hawke Ventures, Pari Passu Venture Partners, el cap and Mu Ventures.
