In New Orleans, USA, data collection tech firm Rep Data has launched what it claims is ' the industry's first DIY offering of voter-matched sample for public opinion researchers and pollsters'. The service is available through its Research Desk platform.
The firm provides full-service data collection solutions for primary quantitative research studies, with clients including market research agencies, management consultancies, major corporations, ad agencies, PR firms and universities. Last autumn it acquired data quality and anti-fraud software platform Research Defender, previously known as SampleChain, whose offer includes tools for matching respondents to relevant surveys, excluding professional survey respondents, and otherwise preventing sample fraud and duplication.
The new service allows users to access pre-matched voters, verified by L2, which provides nonpartisan trusted data mapping for updated, accurate voter information. The firm says researchers can now create more accurate and specific target segments based on voting behavior and demographic details, with greater confidence that sample is representative and authentic; and can analyze past voting behavior against current opinions and preferences, as well as appending additional demographics such as voter history, buying habits, hobbies and interests, and congressional district boundaries.
Potential uses are public opinion studies, analysing the potential response of voter segments to policy changes or public initiatives, and helping nonprofits and advocacy groups understand their supporters.
'Historically, purchasing voter matched sample has been a cumbersome process' says founder and CEO Pat Stokes (pictured). 'By integrating with our API-connected suppliers who have matched their respondents with L2 data, we are able to leverage voter-matched targeting to engage verified respondents in real-time - making the process faster and more efficient and thhe data more reliable'.
CTO Vignesh Krishnan adds: 'As the 2024 US election season ramps up, we're excited to be able to offer this industry-first offering to researchers: but this integration will be useful far beyond this year's election cycle, offering a valuable resource to public opinion researchers and polling professionals'.
