In California, research tech company PureSpectrum has appointed Toluna veteran Phil Ahad in the new role of Chief Innovation Officer (CIO), dedicated to driving innovation and strategic growth through AI, in which the firm says it will make 'significant investments' over the coming year.
Launched in 2016 by former Cint US MD Michael McCrary and headquartered in Westlake Village, PureSpectrum provides a programmatic marketplace and sample management platform, including a respondent-level scoring system called PureScore, designed to block 'low-quality' respondents from taking surveys; and other fraud-fighting features PureText and PurePrice. The planned GenAI investment will expand the firm's solutions stack, reinforce its commitment to quality data and 'improve the entire data collection process', according to the firm.
Ahad (pictured) worked brief spells at AOL and Comscore before joining CoStar Group in 2007 as Senior Manager, Product Marketing and Analytics in 2007 and then Medmarc Insurance Group as Director, Digital Marketing and Strategy. In April 2012 he moved to Toluna as VP of its QuickSurveys product, and was promoted through SVP and EVP to Chief Digital and Product Officer for the group by April 2019. He left Toluna late last year.
CEO McCrary says innovation 'has always been a cornerstone' for the company, and adds: 'The biggest driver of PureSpectrum's success has been the ability to attract and retain the best and brightest talent to our company. Adding Phil to our team further demonstrates our passion and commitment to deliver innovative technology to insights professionals around the world. There are big things coming and we couldn't be more excited'.
