Ipsos has appointed Jon Puleston, formerly Vice President of Innovation in Kantar's Profiles division, in the new role of Chief Methodologist.
Puleston (pictured) worked clientside for news publisher Trinity Mirror Group and the CNBC Europe, leaving in 2001 to establish Media Intelligence, a research tech business working with techniques such as virtual shopping, direct mail simulations, heat maps and online dial testing - this was acquired by GMI in 2006. He then worked for GMI, which was bought by Kantar in 2011 and merged with the latter's Lightspeed division - Puleston was VP of Innovation at the combined agency, pursuing his passion for survey programming and respondent engagement with the development of the QuestionArts platform. He is a frequent speaker at Conferences, speaking on methodology and research-on-research - he is perhaps unique in appearing in three of DRNO's very occasional conference write-ups.
In his new role, Puleston will focus on helping Ipsos improve its online operational work and supporting its mission to develop cutting edge online research methodologies, products and solutions.
In May, Ipsos UK hired former NatCen leader Naomi Jones as Head of Qual Methods at its Qualitative Research and Engagement Centre.
