In the US, employee-owned healthcare consulting firm KJT Group has appointed Laura McCormick as its new Vice President of Medical and Scientific Communications.
KJT was founded in 2007 by Dr. Kenneth J. Tomaszewski and employs more than 50 full-time staff across the USA - including recent senior hires Katy Palmer as SVP Strategic Accounts, Ellen Gordon as SVP of Client Strategy & Growth, and Melissa Usseglio as SVP of Client Strategy.
McCormick has 24 years' experience in the biopharma sector, including publications and corporate policy, overseeing the quality and accuracy of scientific content, and helping to develop medical communications strategies for products across a variety of therapeutic areas. Most recently she worked at consulting firm OPEN Health Communications, latterly as EVP Medical and Scientific Services; and before that she was VP Medical Direction during a three year stint at home exercise pioneer Peloton Advantage. Earlier she spent eighteen years at HCG public health division ProEd Communications, after seven years as an Instructor working in immunology research at Case Western University. She holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and Immunology.
