In London, private investor Bridgepoint has announced it will take a majority stake in Madrid-based social media management and marketing firm SAMY Alliance, the parent of Capture Intelligence and Content Lab.Bridgepoint made a minority investment in August 2023, and is now buying out other investors including current main shareholder Aurica Capital. The transaction is expected to close this quarter, subject to regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
SAMY has more than 600 employees in fifteen countries, and combines proprietary software and advanced analytics tools to assist clients working in the social media and influencer space. The firm bought US-based influencer marketing and data-driven content creation company Content Lab last month, having acquired Helsinki-based social media agency Kurio last March.
Bridgepoint boasts significant expertise in the digital marketing and tech-enabled advisory sectors, and has been the majority owner of marketing intelligence and programmatic media specialist MiQ for two and a half years. The investment firm says it expects the expanding and dynamic market for 'digital marketing, and social media marketing in particular' to facilitate double-digit growth for its new portfolio company over the long-term. The investment will allow SAMY to 'enhance its technology platform, expand into new geographies and industries, and continue to develop its M&A strategy'. Other plans include the opening of a first Italian office this year, in Milan, and strengthening its presence in 'key markets such as Europe, Mexico' and the US'.
'Bridgepoint's reinvestment marks an exciting milestone for SAMY Alliance' says the latter's Chairman and co-founder Juan Sanchez-Herrera (pictured). 'Their support has strengthened our foundation for growth, and together, we're ready to expand globally, drive innovation, and further our leadership in the social media marketing space'.
