London-based consumer research platform Catalyx has promoted COO Phil Norminton to Managing Director. The move allows founder and CEO Guy White to focus on working directly with clients and on driving innovation in the company.Norminton (pictured) joined the company in 2023 in the COO role, with 25 years' experience of consumer insight, product innovation and strategic planning including five years at Black Swan Data and around a decade apiece at Nielsen and PepsiCo, helping major brands to ground their products in consumer needs, and prepare them for the market. Earlier in his career he worked client side at United Biscuits and Danone.
'This is an opportunity for me to spend more time on what really excites me', says White, '- spending time with our clients and working alongside them on real innovation. But beyond that, we need to challenge how innovation is done in CPG. Too much money is wasted on ideas that don't have a clear path to market success. With Phil leading the business, I can dedicate more time to expanding this conversation, helping brands rethink their approach, push beyond outdated methods and build innovation strategies that truly work'.
Norminton says the company's approach 'tackles the billion-dollar CPG innovation problem with a rigorous, insight-led framework', and concludes: 'I'm looking forward to scaling our impact even further, helping more brands create meaningful, commercially successful innovations that truly resonate with consumers'.
