Former Ipsos Strategy3 Leader Joins Material

March 21 2025

US-based consumer insights, brand strategy and product innovation group Material has appointed former Ipsos Strategy3 CEO and President Oscar Yuan as Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, the same week it named Laila Worrell as its new Chief Executive.

Oscar YuanMaterial was formed in 2020 from insight firm the LRW Group, which had acquired multiple companies in 2019, and combines proprietary behavioral science with advanced data, analytics and AI to predict and influence demand curves and accelerate growth for clients.

Yuan brings more than twenty years of industry experience, the last decade of it as President and CEO at Ipsos Strategy3, a marketing, brand and innovation consultancy business within the global research group. Before this he was a founding partner and Head of Brand at Kantar Vermeer, where he led client engagements in the travel, financial services, technology and CPG industries, and earlier he worked at travel firm Atlantis Events, Interbrand and ad agency TBWA\Worldwide. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an economics degree from Stanford University.

In his new role Yuan will be responsible for driving near and long-term strategy, advising key clients and spearheading new offering development; and will provide commercial leadership of the company's growth areas including international expansion.

'Oscar has a terrific track record helping large, global companies harness data-driven insights to compete and win' says Worrell. 'His industry experience and vision will be a catalyst to the outstanding outcomes Material provides for the world's most recognizable brands'.
