Blue Marble Merges Management with Sister Company

April 2 2025

UK-based social and market research agency Blue Marble is merging its management structure with sister company Pye Tait Consulting, and will offer new expertise in skills and education. The firm has made five senior promotions including Blue Marble MD Tom Clarkson to joint MD of the two firms.

Tom ClarksonBlue Marble combines a range of data collection techniques with psychological and behavioural tools to help clients' decision-making. Professional services firm EMB Group acquired the firm a year ago, a year after entering the MR space with the acquisition of Pye Tait. It also bought York-based agency Qa Research last summer.

Blue Marble says it can now offer formative and summative, process and impact evaluations, for purposes including including labour market assessments. This will add to its ability to deliver research with a purpose and have 'a positive impact on the world in which we live' - which is the Blue Marble of the company's name.

Clarkson (pictured) has worked with Government departments, corporates, political parties and NGOs, on major studies of the cost of living, climate change, river pollution and COVID-19 impact. In his expanded role he will be supported by Blue Marble's Founding Director Emma Partridge and four newly promoted Senior Research Directors: Adrian Smith, Amélie Treppass, Olivier Boelman and Dr Tom Wilson.

'When EMB moved into the research sector, both Blue Marble and Pye Tait ticked all our boxes' says EMB Group CEO Danielle Gillett. 'They were well established; had stellar client lists; great reputations for thorough and insightful work and very talented teams. Bringing the teams together under Tom's leadership has been the obvious next step and we're excited about the breadth and depth of our extended offer'.
