Hakkoda Buy Boosts IBM Consulting's AI and Data Offer

In the US, computing giant IBM has announced the acquisition of consultancy Hakkoda, which brings specialized data platform and AI expertise to the data transformation services portfolio of its Consulting division. Financial details were not disclosed.

These days the once all-conquering global corporate computing firm is a provider of hybrid cloud, AI and consulting expertise, with around 270,000 employees and helping clients in more than 175 countries. The acquisition of Snowflake partner company Hakkoda - completed on April 2nd - brings it capabilities in migrating, modernizing and monetizing clients' 'data estates', optimized for speed, cost and efficiency across multiple business use cases. Hakkoda also brings a strong portfolio of genAI-powered assets that can speed up data modernization projects, and will strengthen the AI-powered delivery platform known as IBM Consulting Advantage.

In addition to its award-winning Snowflake integrations, Hakkoda is an advanced-tier partner of AWS. The firm is headquartered in New York and its team of 'hundreds' of experts across the USA, Latin America, India and Europe will join IBM Consulting.
