Beauty and cosmetics group The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. has appointed Brian Franz as Chief Technology, Data and Analytics Officer, combining previously separate functions under one leader.

Estée Lauder is a globally known manufacturer, marketer and seller of skin care, makeup, fragrance and hair care products, including luxury and prestige brands. Its products are sold in around 150 countries and territories under dozens of brand names including: Estée Lauder, Aramis and Clinique.
Franz joins from State Street, where he most recently served as EVP, Global Chief Information Officer and Head of Enterprise Resiliency.Before this he held senior leadership roles at Diageo PLC, including Chief Productivity Officer and CIO, and served as CIO at PepsiCo International. Earlier in his career, he worked in senior roles at at GE, including GE Capital and AT&T. He holds a master's degree from New York University and a bachelor's degree from Iona College.
Franz, who reports to President and CEO Stéphane de La Faverie and will join the company's Executive Team, will lead the company's global IT organization; and oversee the Digital Technology & Experience and Enterprise Data teams, whose remit includes delivery of more seamless and personalized digital experiences for consumers, and 'harnessing data as a strategic asset to drive faster, smarter decisions across the enterprise'.
