In the US, consumer purchase insights company Affinity Solutions has appointed Kalyan Lanka as Chief Product Officer.
New York-based Affinity uses data from 140 million daily credit and debit card transactions to provide an understanding of consumer purchasing behavior. In April, the firm launched Comet, which provides marketers, consultancies and financial services companies with a view on consumer purchase behavior outside their stores, branches and web sites.
Lanka (pictured) joins from multiscreen TV inventory and viewing insights provider Ampersand, where he was VP of Product Management. Before that he served as Chief Strategy Officer at Simmons Research; Head of Product Innovation and Strategy at Experian Marketing Services; and Head of Product Management at Lotame.
In his new role, Lanka is responsible for the firm's entire product portfolio - from ideation and innovation, to launch and lifecycle management. Specifically, he will focus on accelerating the 'business momentum' surrounding the launch of Comet. CEO and founder Jonathan Silver comments: 'Kalyan's outstanding track record in product strategy and innovation directly aligns with our vision for Comet to reshape how marketers measure success.
