Italian AR ad tech company Aryel has appointed former Axel Springer and Teads exec Christian Griesbach as a Strategic Advisor for the German market, as it looks to expand into France and Germany and make 'key acquisitions'. The firm opened an office in the UK late last year.
Aryel was founded in late 2020 by Mattia Salvi, Luca Petri, Leonardo Persico and Vincenzo Schifano, and already boasts 55 staff across offices in Milan and London. Its software allows users to create and distribute augmented reality advertising content, collect and analyse detailed data on viewers' emotional reactions / facial features and attention levels, and optimise advertising campaigns. The firm works mostly for clients in the fashion luxury, FMCG and automotive sectors.
Griesbach (pictured) brings more than 25 years of experience in the ad industry, including work as General Manager of Digital Marketing & Sales at Axel Springer, Managing Director DACH & Eastern Europe at Teads, and roles at Real Media, mediasquares and mediasports. He joins from consulting firm Despove, of which he is Managing Partner.
Aryel says it is 'poised to scale its operations further by entering France and Germany' and will do so partly by 'strengthening strategic partnerships and introducing local advisors in the new markets'. CEO and co-founder Mattia Salvi comments: 'Our goal is to become a global leader in augmented reality for advertising. Expanding into France and Germany is a crucial step in our international growth strategy, allowing us to offer innovative solutions to an increasing number of clients and explore new market opportunities. We are delighted to welcome Christian as Aryel's strategic advisor for Germany, his vast experience and deep understanding of the German market will be invaluable as we continue to expand our presence and enhance our offerings in this key region'.
The firm also says it aims to make strategic acquisitions, and to expand its technological offerings into new communication channels including DOOH, CTV and Retail Media.
