August 28 2024

MR agency DVJ Insights has announced appointments in its offices in Germany, the Netherlands, the Nordics and the UK. Dr. Kai Geertsema, Patrick Bruin, Henrik Nielsen and Steve Groom bring expertise in FMCG, shopper behaviour and business development.

Dr. Kai Geertsema, Patrick Bruin, Henrik Nielsen and Steve GroomDVJ Insights helps clients improve communication, build stronger brands, introduce more innovative products and services, and gain a deeper understanding of consumer behaviour - tapping 'close collaboration with industry practitioners and scientific institutions' to keep its own innovation on track.

Geertsema joins in Hamburg, with a background in psychology and economics and 24 years of experience in market and customer research and marketing analytics. This includes work on both the brand and agency sides and including B2B and B2C.

Bruin rejoins the Netherlands team after working on a freelance assignment last year and leading the firm's Dutch Government account. He brings more than 25 years of experience. He has worked in interim management roles at firms including Heineken, IKEA, DSM and KPN, and before that permanent roles at Danone, GfK, FrieslandCampina and others. In his new role he will work on quant and qual projects, ad hoc and continuous and in B2B and B2C markets.

Nielsen joins as a Senior Client Consultant for the Nordics, based in Sweden - after more than 30 years in consumer insights roles at IKEA, PVH (Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger), and Kantar. In his new role he will aim to 'put DVJ more firmly on the map in the Nordic region' - where it has offices in Copenhagen and Helsingborg.

Groom adds his two decades of MR industry experience to the firm's London office. His work has ranged from international tracking for multinational organisations to ad hoc consumer targeting for small brands, with an increasing focus on branding and communications research in the last ten years.

MD Marieke van Echtelt comments: 'With the recent addition of these four skilled consultants, we are strategically expanding the team to further enhance our client-centric approach. Great people are the main source of our success, and we recognise the importance of expanding and investing in the international team'.
