European data collection firm Norstat is back on the acquisition trail after only a short pause, snapping up another Nordic company, this time Swedish quant and qual data collection company PFM Research.
Norstat was established in Norway in 1997 and has grown its geographical presence to include Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, the UK, Ireland, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria and Italy. UK-based Panelbase, acquired in the summer of 2023, was until today its only buy in almost three years, but before this it bought six companies in eight months: Swiss-based TestingTime, Dutch firms CG Research and Respondenten, Denmark's DMA Research, Copenhagen-based Userneeds and Oslo's Polling & Statistics.
PFM was founded in 1999 and is based in Halmstad, employing sixteen people and turning over SEK 44m ($US 4.0m) last year. Its Chief Exec Fredrik Jönsson says the deal is an exciting new chapter, allowing it to 'build on its strong legacy and continue to offer high-quality data deliveries to its clients'. He adds: 'Over the years, we have recognized Norstat and their dedication to data collection for market research and insight, and we know this partnership is the right fit, both culturally and strategically. Our team looks forward to contributing to Norstat's vision of delivering world-class data collection - we cannot wait to get started'.
Henrik Åquist (pictured), Managing Director of Norstat Sweden, comments: 'We are thrilled to welcome PFM Research to the Norstat family. This acquisition is a perfect match, as PFM's strong presence in Sweden and expertise in both qualitative and quantitative data collection align seamlessly with our existing capabilities. Together, we will create even greater value for our clients by combining PFM's extensive data collection experience with Norstat's diverse offerings and innovative digital solutions'.
