NIQ Buys Sensory Modeling Firm Gastrograph AI

NIQ has agreed to acquire New York-based Gastrograph AI, a platform which models human sensory perception of flavor, aroma and texture to provide predictive insights for CPG clients.

Ramon MelgarejoGastrograph's solution for AI-based predictive product development helps to understand the preferences of consumer across demographics and countries, allowing brands to develop, test and reformulate products.

NIQ, which has already worked with the firm in building its BASES Creative Product AI, says the buy further strengthens its AI capabilities and competitive differentiation in its mission to provide CPG companies with the Full View of consumer behavior. Gastrograph AI's extensive sensory database of consumer preferences will be integrated within NIQ's systems to enhance clients' ideas, concepts and product formulations - at greater speed and lower cost. This builds on NIQ's Creative Product AI solution, which was launched in 2022.
