In an SEC announcement the IT consulting and research giant said Dawkins would stay at the company for 'at least' the first quarter of 2025 to ensure a smooth transition, and stressed that there had 'been no disagreement between Mr. Dawkins and Gartner around strategy, financials or business practices'.
Dawkins has led Gartner's Global Business Sales organization since 2020. He joined the firm in 2002 and initially held leadership positions in Conferences Sales and Research Sales before becoming leader of the Conferences division. The company said it 'thanks Mr. Dawkins for more than two decades of strong contributions'.
Gartner has grown its revenue from $858m in 2003 to $5.9m in 2023, a consistent success story with few or no real parallels in the sector: Dawkins has helped to continue this and to ensure the firm saw minimal impact from the Covid slowdown. In 2019 revenue was $4.2bn (and in Covid-affected 2020 $4.1bn) - the current figure is up more than 40%.
