VideoAmp Hires Leader for Sports Practice

January 28 2025

Media measurement company VideoAmp has brought in former FOX Sports VP Dan Donnelly as Head of Sports Strategy, with the aim of growing the practice.

Dan DonnellyVideoAmp, which is headquartered in Los Angeles and New York with offices across the US, was founded in 2014 as a platform for buying, measuring and optimizing digital video ads, and in the last few years has ramped up its services as a cross-platform measurement currency competing with Nielsen. The firm has deals with Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, AMG, dentsu, YouTube and Snap, Inc., and last year was awarded a seal of approval by the US 'Joint Industry Committee' (JIC) on audience measurement.

VideoAmp says nearly half of all media revenue is generated from live sporting events. Donnelly (pictured) brings more than twenty years of experience in marketing, advertising and brand partnerships, most recently from FOX Sports where he was SVP of Ad Sales Strategy, and earlier in leadership roles at Publicis Media's U.S. Sports and Entertainment division and Starcom Mediavest Group. His experience includes negotiating multiple high-profile media partnerships with major sports leagues, securing multi-year TV deals for Anheuser-Busch across the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, NASCAR, NCAA, PGA Tour, Olympics and World Cup Soccer. In his new role, he will focus on ensuring accurate cross-platform measurement in the fragmented sports media landscape, adding to the firm's portfolio of partnerships and boosting its development of technology relevant to ad measurement in the sector.

'VideoAmp could not be more excited to welcome Dan on board to lead our Sports practice', says EVP of Revenue Bryan Goski. 'As a 20-year industry veteran with deep expertise with agencies, brands and publishers in the Sports vertical, I have no doubt that he will add immense value to our team and help us realize our mission to provide the highest quality of measurement to our partners'.
