In the US, public opinion experts EMC Research and Hamilton Campaigns have merged under the former's name to create a firm of 40 staff with national coverage and seven offices across the south, mid-west and west.Hamilton Campaigns was founded in Orlando by opinion research pioneer Bill Hamilton in 1964, and has an extensive client list in Florida both among government / political clients and corporates, but also has strong ties in Texas and Washington, DC. David Beattie, the company's President since 2000, will now serve as a Senior Principal at EMC Research.
EMC Research was founded in 1989 and also combines corporate and public sector clients, with interests / experience including game theory and 'casino and game-show analysis'. Company President Alex Evans (pictured) says EMC has grown steadily in recent years and the merger is another step in that. Beattie says that in addition to a similar outlook the firms also have family connections, and comments: 'Our firm now has diverse national experience combined with local knowledge in some of the largest states in the country which is a benefit to all our clients'. He adds: '[The merger] actually allows me to focus more on Florida, since there is already so much going on in other states'.
The seven offices are in Columbus, OH; Fernandina Beach, FL; Irving, TX; Oakland, CA; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; and Washington, D.C.
