US-based strategy and custom research company Magid has hired former GfK exec Tim Spenny as Senior Vice President, with a focus on emerging technology and research and consulting for innovation.
The company, which was founded by television 'news doctor' Frank N. Magid in 1957, studies how behavior is affected by content and advertising across traditional and new media platforms. Spenny (pictured) joins Magid's San Diego office after a brief spell at big data analytics platform Teradata, before which he spent more than six years at GfK, latterly as Global Account Director. Earlier, he worked for concept testing and forecasting software specialist Affinnova (acquired by Nielsen in 2014) as VP Enterprise Sales - Financial Services; and he was a Senior Consultant at business intelligence and market analysis specialist Euromonitor International.
Commenting on the appointment, Craig Wax, EVP of Magid's Consumer Products and Services group, said: 'Tim's global consulting experience, research expertise, and industry knowledge, will bring tremendous value to our clients across several industries including; financial services, technology, and ecommerce'.
