Market research and analytics company Leger has acquired public sector and B2B research specialist National Research Group (NRG). Both firms are based in Canada, with NRG focused on the West of the country.
Formed in 1986, Leger has more than 600 employees in seven Canadian and US offices, has made nine previous acquisitions and says it will 'continue to look for growth opportunities in the coming months'. NRG's expertise in a wide range of sectors including public affairs, finance, education, lotteries and gaming, tourism and transit will strengthen Leger's offer; and the acquired firm also brings extensive experience working with diverse and hard-to-reach populations.
Current NRG Chairman and CEO Brian Owen (pictured) will join Leger's Board of Directors and act as an advisor, and comments: 'To my team and clients, Leger provides their in-depth analytics expertise and cutting-edge technologies, including their online panel, real-time Voice of the Customer (VoC) technology, and expertise in online communities. We are very proud to join the Leger family'.
CEO Jean-Marc Léger says of the deal: 'NRG perfectly complements our offer. It has built a great reputation based on 40 years of research experience. We are proud to welcome this team of senior consultants and strengthen our company's leadership in British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba'.
